In ChatGPT settings, go to "Parental Controls" or visit chatgpt.com/parentalcontrols

Invite your teen to connect via email or text message

Once your teen accepts and your accounts are linked, you can adjust their settings from your own account

Important Note

Parents cannot view their teen's conversation content. However, in rare cases where the system detects a potential serious safety risk, parents may receive a notification. Teens can disconnect their account at any time, and parents will be notified if the account is no longer connected.

Protection Features

What You Can Manage

Once accounts are linked, you can adjust the following settings from your account:

🛡️ Reduce Sensitive Content

The system automatically provides extra protection for teens to avoid graphic content or dangerous challenges. Parents can further customise the experience.

🧠 Memory

When turned off, ChatGPT won't save memories or use memories in responses. Protects your child's privacy from being recorded.

🎙️ Voice Mode

Removes the option to use voice mode, restricting your child to text-only conversations.

🖼️ Image Generation

Removes the option to create or edit images, preventing generation of inappropriate visual content.

🌙 Quiet Hours

Set times when ChatGPT cannot be used, for example 9 PM to 7 AM.

👥 Group Conversations

Removes the option to use group conversations, reducing interaction risks with strangers.

🤖 Model Training

When turned off, conversation data won't be used to improve the AI model. Protects your data from AI training.

🔔 Safety Alerts

Parents can choose to receive safety alerts via email, text, or push notifications.
